Street Paving

4/13/2014

Street Paving  -   Our patience is being tested again!
We have been advised by a rep. at Public Works that the paving work in our area is not assigned for this year. It will be either 2015 or 2016. We are a 2A neighborhood which means the funding will be from Measure 2A, which voters passed in 2012.

They have assured us they will be coordinating the job with Denver Water. They meet annually in the fall for the following year's work and thereafter monthly to coordinate with Denver Water or any other agency for changes. They say they always want the utility to go into the neighborhood first & want to be the last ones in to pave.

We will check in with both departments next year to see if/where we are on either schedule. If you are curious to view the 2014 paving plan for the entire city, go to [email protected] . Scroll to "Street Paving Begins".

March Update

3/31/2014

HELLO TO ALL WELLSHIRE EASTERNERS & WELCOME TO SPRING !

A few notes for you :
  1. Re: City Council--If you would like to receive weekly agendas, meeting schedules, etc. please go to our website (http://www.wellshireeast.org/neighborhood-news.html) where the link is available.
  2. The season for paving streets has begun !  We are all anxious for that to happen in our neighborhood. BUT 1st things 1st --- We are in touch with the Denver Water Department  to get an update on the water line main replacement for our neighborhood.  That needs to be completed before the street work is done or the paving job would be negated.  We hope to alert both departments so that the work is coordinated.
  3. Street Sweeping:  You may notice on page 3 of Peggy's Pages that the sweeping will take place this month. It appears that our area is scheduled for Tuesday of the 4th week.
  4. Walking your dog/dogs -  Hopefully we can get off this subject soon !   It has been brought to our attention to remind you to deposit dog droppings in your own trash or at the park receptacle  - not in someone else's because it is closest.....some folks do not have their bin emptied every week...the summer heat brings unfavorable odors. Thank you!

SO LONG FOR NOW.............

Lois, Amanda , Marge & Board
